Morning Gloryville is a morning dance party revolution which started just two years ago in London.
Within that short time, Morning Gloryville’s become a worldwide phenomenon with parties in England, France, Canada, Ireland, India, The Netherlands, America, Germany, Japan and now Australia.
From around 6.30am to 9.30am, hundreds of people are invited to dance themselves into the day. Morning Gloryville is trying to ‘turn the clubbing scene on its head’ by creating a fun, engaging and expressive environment.
And with a slogan like ‘Rave Your Way into the Day’, what’s not to like?
The parties are held in large halls or warehouse type venues with funky decorations wishing you a good morning. With thumping energetic tunes played by a DJ, it’s hard not to get in the groove.
Everyone is welcome. The diversity of the people in attendance and the way they move their bodies is impressive.
Morning Gloryville in Melbourne
The latest Morning Gloryville event in Melbourne was filled with smiles, fluro and crazy dance moves. The party was held at 1000 Pounds on Little Bourke Street (very handy if you work in the city).
Conveniently there was a coat check so you could dance freely. Upstairs, there was a section for massages where you could sign up for a time slot. There was also yoga sessions on repeat where anyone could join in if there was a free matt or space on the floor. Later in the morning, some people performed some acro-yoga on stage which was interesting.
The most spectacular part of the event was the Bike’n’Blend area. Bike’n’Blend are a passionate about the most wholesome things – exercise, healthy living and sustainable living. AWESOME.
Firstly, choose the smoothie you’d like to have. Mango or strawberry? Right. Then jump on the bike and blend it up yourself! They combine fitness and healthy eating which isn’t revolutionary but it is setting a motivating standard that we need more of in the world.
If you are or aren’t a morning person, a dance party could be the perfect motivation to generate some energy for the day. Check out Morning Gloryville Melbourne on Facebook.
